Introduction
We here at The Bottreaux aim to cater for the needs of all who
visit us. The building is over 200 years old and whilst we aim
to meet the needs of all our guests there are some period features
which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.
We have eight en suite bedrooms, five are on the first floor
and three are on the second floor. The following statement is
a summary of our provision. |
Pre-arrival
Our location is at the top of Boscastle Village and the entrance
to our car park is up a short steep road. We are approx. 0.5
miles from the harbour the walk to the harbour is down a steep
road. Bus service is limited but timetables are available on
request. The main train station, Bodmin Parkway, is approx.
45 minutes by car – taxis are usually available there to hire.
We can pre-book a taxi if requested to do so. Menus can be provided
in large print if require. We regret we do not have facilities

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
Our private car park is situated at the side of The Bottreaux.
The surface is tarmac with a slightly sloping slate path leading
to the main porch entrance. Please note there are no designated
disabled parking spaces. There is normally enough rear access
to a vehicle once it is parked. There is a door bell about 4
feet up from the floor in the porch. Please telephone 01840

Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing
Area
One step of approx. 9 inches high leads into the porch which
has a side entrance. The front door is at right angle to the
porch door which has a step of approx. 7 inches high. Fairly
spacious reception area. |
Public Areas – Hall, Stairs, Landing,
Corridors etc
Steep fairly narrow flight of stairs to the first floor – 13
steps each approx. 7 inches high. Small narrow landing with
one step of 7 inches on the turn. Steep narrow flight of stairs
to the second floor – 5 steps each approx 7 inches high. Corridors
upstairs are narrow. |
Public Areas – Sitting room, lounges,
lobbies etc
Spacious Lounge area. All on one level. |
Public Areas - Dining Room
Spacious dining room. Main dining room on one level with one
approx. 6 inches step up into smaller dining area. Extra wide
doors into main dining room. |
Public Areas – Bar Lounge
One 7.5 inch step up from smaller dining area to bar lounge.
Entrance to restaurant and bar lounge can be made via our side
entrance off High Street. |
Additional Information
Due to the location of The Bottreaux it is advisable to have
your own transport. |
